Shimenguan Scenic Spot

        Located on the west slope of Mt Cangshan, with an elevation of 2,000-3,000 meters, the Shimenguan Scenic Area covers an area of 55.51 square kilometers. This area embraces the spectacular Shimenguan gorge which is known as the “gate made in heaven”, the narrow Yanqiao gorge, waterfalls, rock sequences, structural features, rock paintings, temples, customs of Yi people, mountain valleges, etc. this site is famed for its “secluded, precipitous and rugged ” natural beauty, it is a natural gateway to the majestic Cangshan Mountain, whose rocks are two billion years old.
