Piedmont Alluvial Plain
During the quaternary, influenced by the Himalayan orogeny, Erhai Lake sank, Cangshan Mountain uplift, and Eighteen Streams cut down. After strong erosion and carried by flowing water, large amount of gravels pile up at the east bottom of the Cangshan Mountain. There formed about 36 pluvial-alluvial fans, and then they became a pluvial-alluvial skirt. This alluvial plain is called “Bazi” in Dali. It is the main location for survival and reproduction of Bai people of all generation. And it has bled brilliant culture. Dali is renowned as the "Famous Town of Literatures". It has beautiful natural scenery and brilliant culture. Here, there are rich cultural heritage of Nanzhao Kingdom -- Dali Kingdom, and plentiful historical and cultural sites. The park owns 25 kinds of intangible cultural heritage higher than prefecture-level, such as knot dyeing workmanship and Raosanling event of the Bai people. And it has 14 culture protection units higher than provincial-level, such as Three pagodas of Chongsheng Temple and relic site of Taihe City.All these (Three pagodas of Chongsheng Temple, Fota Temple, Santan (three pools) of Qingbi Temple, Gantong Temple, and the residence, costume, farming, fisher boat, song & dance, custom and culture of Bai nationality) show unique charm of traditional culture of Dali.The change of natural environment (mountain and lakes), history and culture, and the mingling multiple ethnics show the beautiful harmony between human and nature.
