Fold

The foldis formed when the stratum are continuously bent or curved as a result of deformation under stress. After the stratum is folded, both its original position and morphology are changed except for its continuity. The fold is formed because of compression or shear dislocation between adjacent rock blocks, which is a direct reflection of diastrophism.
