Birds
The Geopark recorded birds 18 orders, 42 families, 263 species. And mainly are Passeriformes, totally recorded 158 species,accounts for 60.08% of all, of which, Muscicapidae is the most one, totally recorded 92 species, accounts for 60.08% of all.
According to the record of the park, about birds, there is 1 species under the first-class national protection: Syrmaticus humiae, 21 species under the second -class national protection, such as Elanus caeruleus, Accipiter nisus, Buteo buteo, Spizaetus nipalensis, Circus cyaneus, Lophura nycthemera, Chrysolophus amherstiae, Psittacula himalayana, Glaucidium brodiei and so on, also there are 170 species of beneficial, or with an important economic and scientific research value wild animals under the national protection. Totally, there are 192 species of birds under the national protection. Besides, Phasianus colchicus, Chrysolophus amherstiae, Psittacula derbiana, Spizixos semitorques, Alcippe ruficapilla, Yuhina diademata and Sitta yunnanensi are species endemic to China.
