Embroidery of the Bai-people
The embroidery of the Bai-people is a local traditional craftsmanship passed on from generation to generation among the women of the Bai people in Dali. On the base of inheriting the traditional craft, Bai embroidery integrates essence of the embroidery craft of other ethnic groups, mainly including Zhenxiu (also called Pingxiu), Jianzhiziu (also called Tuxiu) and Tiaohua. Its pattern mainly adopts themes such as nature, flowers and birds, good luck and love, presenting Bai people's interests in life and aesthetic ideas. It has been included in the second provincial Intangible Cultural Heritage protection list publicized by the People's Government of Yunnan Province in August, 2009.
